About Purves & Associates Insurance Agency

The story begins in 1972 when George Purves took his first insurance Agency job at Brinley’s Real Estate and Insurance in Davis, CA. It was common at the time for the real estate and insurance business to be combined, but Mr. Brinley’s primary focus was on the real estate side. Mr. Brinley was a Davis institution, known for his generosity and integrity, and he mentored George in the business.

Eventually, Mr. Brinley sold the insurance arm of the business to George Purves who joined his practice with Stehli & Cervelli, creating the powerhouse Stehli, Purves & Cervelli Independent Insurance Agency of Davis. The agency sold insurance to local businesses and farms as well as home and auto insurance to families in Davis and the surrounding areas.
