I do NOT recommend Oregon Mutual. I had a homeowner’s policy with Oregon Mutual for 9+ years, and never had a claim of any kind. None. After getting a quote from a different company, which would save me $110/year, I decided to change companies. So, I notified Oregon Mutual in writing that I wanted to cancel my policy on the effective date of the new policy. Well, an e-mail from the new company reaffirming my purchase of the new policy went astray – so I asked my agent to arrange for the old policy with Oregon Mutual to be reinstated, to prevent me from possibly having a brief lapse in coverage. My agent and I were both astonished, and a little angry, that the underwriter at Oregon Mutual vindictively refused to reinstate a policy which still had 3 months of coverage remaining, because they knew I was leaving Oregon Mutual.

DO NOT BUY INSURANCE FROM THIS PETTY COMPANY.

I was in a no-fault accident 3 weeks ago because I don’t feel like calling the other party’s insurance company I just received the police to report,

so I called up to get it started first time I was told I don’t have to file a claim

because I wasn’t at fault welI i pay you $122 a month so you can at least call the other person,s

that hit me insurance company.to get it started I was told oh I’m not authorized to do that seriously

I called your 800 number and they also said if I file a claim on my insurance might go up I was completely at no fault somebody smashed into the back of me so after this is all done . your not going to have to pay a penny the other person. insurance is .. im canceling you never had a. Clueless person on the phone in my life .or.lack of experience I should say she didn’t even know what to tell me I just wanted to .know what to do

After many years now. We refinanced our house. They paid a whole year of premium. Oregon mutual canceled policy for no reason. Nor has sent us a cancelation notice. Our insurance broker called us. Not you. Please post reviews with the bbb to help shut these scum bags down.

When I first signed up with OMI my premiums were very competitive and reasonable. Roughly a year in I had a fender bender in a parking lot, I was at fault, that was a less than $400 claim to fix the other persons car, basically paint. My premium went up a bit of course but nothing to concerning. Well over the next few years OMI more than doubled my premiums to an outlandish $1,561.00 per year with no reasoning. I cancelled my plan and went to Progressive at $756.00 per year with better coverage and roadside. A month after switching OMI sends me another bill for $130.63 for a installment fee balance or something of that nature. So I did the math, I had paid in $6114.00 in premiums over 5 years, had one $400 claim, and you still find it necessary to ding me another $130.63 for good measure. Heck of a company.

They have been very helpful to our agency in terms of service & support over the years and definitely have contributed to our growth. Recently I had a large client who urgently needed my help regarding their insurances. I reached out to my primary contact at OM on a Sunday night via email and spoke with him Monday morning to explain my situation & need for some help & guidance. They treated me so good during the process, I wondered ‘If they treat other people this nice, just imagine how well they treat their own clients’. lack of communication – we were hit by someone who has this insurance – talking to this company is horrendous. They do not follow up – they do not send you details. It took over 3 weeks to send out a check due to them not having “reserves” in their account – not sure what insurance company does not have reserves for a 1200$ accident. I would never use this insurance company if it were me.

I’ve had Mutual of Oregon for about a year now. I recently had a small fire in my garage as was very impressed. I reached out the same day and Mark Metune in the claims department was very helpful. I was contacted less than an hour later by Ryan Blanchard who I believe was the adjuster. The damage ended up not being extensive enough to make sense to move forward with a claim, but I was very impressed by how quickly the company was looking to help.

While on vacation we had a small water leak that totally destroyed our kitchen and wood floors. Notified Oregon Mutual and they responded quickly and efficiently. Mind you we are in Southern California, in the middle of the crazy Covid Pandemic, so I was concerned about an Oregon company taking care of us. our Adjuster Don Gill-More was always available, courteous and responsive and we couldn’t be happier with the service we received.
