Worst insurance company in the world.

Terrible customer service when trying to make a claim! They will not pay out! Do not use them!

Didn’t go here but they got a new sign and IRS super nice

Aweful customer service and adjusters. Company will do everything possible not to make a payout out of it’s policies. Cancelled policy 3 months early after they dragged a claim out for 5 months ultimately refusing to pay despite the results from a 3rd party adjustor the company hired. Take your chances if you choose to do business here, if this is how they treat a commercial customer who’s policies are tens of thousands a year, they certainly will not take care of you on a small personal policy. Posted 15 months after we have finished business with them. 7/29/19

I was hit by one of this companies insured 3 weeks ago! Luckily my 5 year old son was not hurt! The claims rep through this company treated me with no respect, no compassion at all. It’s now been 3 weeks and no word as to what is going to happen. My vehicle is totaled and I’m paying OUT OF POCKET for a rental..I’ve never dealt with a more unprofessional company. My insurance company has reached out to this company several times and NO response! They sent someone out to look at my car 3 weeks ago. Have yet to be given a copy of the damages. I received 1 letter stating I basically need to sit around and wait to see IF they will compensate and offer a settlement. I’ve been in accidents before where the other driver was at fault and their insurance companies were professional, sympathetic and handled everything in a very timely manner! Looks like I’ll be obtaining a lawyer to handle this company. And being a small business owner myself I would NEVER choose this company to insure my business or vehicle!

My auto claim was closed without my knowledge and the repair facility was ignored for almost two weeks regarding supplemental damage to my vehicle. When confronted the claims rep tried to pass the responsibility on to their third party adjuster who had nothing to do with the issue. When my vehicle was finally deemed a total loss nearly 4 weeks after the accident they only allotted me 5 days of rental coverage, yet the claim took another 4 weeks to process during which time I was left without a vehicle or prompt communication. Do yourself a favor and stick with a better rated company, you get what you pay for. I can’t imagine how much worse this could have been if property damage and medical bills would have been involved.

I tried create an account so that I could pay my bill on line as I have yet to receive an actual bill and the create an account section of the website would not let me enter my birthdate in the format you requested. It continually truncated the last number. I’m beginning to think that I should look for another insurance provider

Merchants has one of the worst website interfaces I have worked with. Add in the fact that their customer service absolutely refuses to provide updates and they quickly become a company not worth giving your business too. I’ll admit, I’m a little bitter over my experience post accident but I’ve always had a fear of just being a number to a company and knowing they really don’t care about you as a person. After one accident since I started driving, they’ve decided to not renew my policy. The process of filing the claim involved me checking in every few weeks while being given very few updates organically. They were supposed to send me documents on three separate occasions that never came, and if it wasn’t for my persistence to get it I would’ve been shorted $625 because they had my truck documented incorrectly. You get passed off to work with someone new every few days. Overall, their home owners was a great policy so I paid a little more for car insurance to get the home owners policy. Should you ever have the worst moment of your life with a car accident, that more expensive policy is absolutely not worth dealing with Merchants for. They’ve done be a favor by not renewing and I’ll take all my business elsewhere.
