I drive for Uber and was suggested via the app to get this insurance. I had a reportable incident where a passenger opened the left rear door in front of Walmart while another vehicle decided to come around from the rear. I reported it immediately and submitted the appropriate information. The rep claims that they can’t contact the rider or the other driver. It’s been over a month and I haven’t received any reply to two follow-up emails. Why would Uber contract with a company like James River?

I don’t know if I deal with a professional insurance company or a game player. I got hit by a bus my car damaged and I’m injured. My adjuster has done nothing for couple times on the phone. For almost 8 days , the only things they ask for it is photos , document ……

James river insurance don’t have a professional person inspect your damages , all done by photos. To avoid all headaches hire a lawyer to work for you . Even Uber they don’t care . You are at your own . It’s the worst insurance company in United state.

My life doesn’t have time for the James River “Insurance” Company. I was hit by an uber driver on my way to work. I have a police report, pictures and the Uber driver was driving on a suspended license (he got a ticket and the police asked me to leave the scene before they finished with him). It took me 3 days to get a claim filed with them and I’ve heard nothing back. When I call, they tell me they are a “commercial” provider for Uber and don’t normally work directly with customers. Geico (my insurance provider) has recommended legal action to recover time, difficulty, and damages.

I was hit by an uber driver while waiting for the green light @ an intersection. The driver admitted fault and have processed the claim, however, their agents and call center employees are deflective in their comments and really make you chase them to get what you need. They only operate on their business hours which is typically a small window for anyone who is working a typical 9-5. I have been hung up on several times trying to get some assistance to get my vehicle fixed. By far the worst customer service I have ever experienced. This company must be avoided at ALL COSTS.

Wow, I just read the reviews and wanted to leave yet another. I am an uber driver, one of the good ones, and a bus hit me from behind at a local university. The accident was 100% the fault of the bus driver and company yet my deductible was still not waived. But, they were kind enough to say they would “try” to obtain my deductible and get it to me. Geez thanks! loser company! They also use a useless car appraisal service which took a month to complete the task.

The only reason for rating one star is because it is the minimum rating, you may consider this a Zero. I never had to deal with such an unprofessional, disrespectful and impolite company. I had an incident at my home community where the security bar broke down and caused significant damage to my car. Unfortunately, James River Insurance is who my complex has their insurance through. My adjuster is Edwin Duncan, who has been nothing but discourteous and unaccommodating to the point where he raised his voice in an angry manner during a phone conversation, not to mention he hung up the phone call, and left me talking by myself. This was without providing a solution or answer to my questions. I had a question on the funds release agreement, which the total amount on it did not include any rental car funds ( body work is estimated at 4-5 days). This release clearly says that by signing this release, you liberate the company from all other claims, unknown damages etc… Mr. Duncan’s advise to me: “Well Karla, either you sign it or you don’t”. I would never recommend this insurance company to anybody.

The one star is me being nice after what they did to us my hubby while ubering lost control and hit into tree head on he walked away thank god but they came out looking at car said it was totaled out and they would send us a check to pay it off but never did then a year later I get a letter from car loan they repoed from salvage yard a year later and now they harrassing us and it’s on my credit report this is not a company I would want to use

Google does not allow zero star, so here is one star. I felt compelled to share about this company because their denial seems to be norm of their business and reasons for denial is at least dubious or fishy. After providing pictures and witness testimonials they denial reason is “lack of direct evidence” which means CCTV video recording directly recorded the actual event. Please be advised and stay way from this company for your own protection unless you can to install hundreds of video cameras all around your insured premises, and god know what else excuse they will come up. The chances are they won’t cover you when you need them. Please stay away !
