My first doctor had not been to his office in eight months, only a nurse and receptionist that handled everything, and the receptionist had never met the man. Next doctor had to get someone on the phone that spoke English (not Vietnamese), and third doctor I requested turned out to work from a medical marijuana dispensary. Now waiting four weeks for new card from one of the few desperate doctors that even accept Health net, still no card. Seven months of payments and still no service.

My PCP is not associated with the medical group HealthNet linked with him. So now I have to change the associated medical group before I can even be seen by my doctor.

Thank God I don’t have any serious medical problem or I’d probably end up in the ER before HealthNet could straighten this out.

Nothing like paying for medical insurance you can’t use.

Getting HealthNet to fix any on-line log in issues is another whole ordeal.

Every respectable insurance seems to have automated login support that emails you back immediately. Not so, with HealthNet. You have to send in a request on a limited option response form to their understaffed on-line support team and wait a minimum of two days (I’ve waited up to 5 days before) to get a response, NOT a solution, just a response.

These people are utterly hopeless. They made an accounting error on my account 8 months ago and I have called numerous times to try to get it corrected, and written two letters. Each time I call they only make it worse, and I have yet to receive a reply to either one of my letters.

Most people get insurance through their employer and therefore have limited choice. However, if you DO have a choice – or if you are an employer decided which insurers to partner with for your employees – run, don’t walk, away from this insurance company. It has been nothing but nightmares. I have spent countless hours on the phone, writing emails, have been passed around to multiple representatives and no one is able to provide answers or help. I have had the insurance company take so long to fix a billing error (it’s still not fixed, 7 months later) that the bills were headed to collections. I have the same billing error, costing thousands of dollars, every time and yet they cannot figure it out. It is the most incompetent, poorly run company I have ever had the displeasure of engaging with and if I never have to be a Health Net member again it will be too soon. I would pay 2, 3, 4 times what I pay in premiums and deductibles just to avoid this company. It is impossible for me to overstate how poor the service is. I’m not the type to post bad reviews, but this has been absolutely beyond bad.
