PS- Foote is not an insurance company, but rather a broker that sells insurance provided by someone else– QBE, Auto Owner’s, etc. Don’t call them to a file a claim, or you may end up needlessly frustrated. Call the insurance company (i.e. QBE, etc.) itself.

My car got hit last week while I was in the grocery store. The lady hit my car and then drove to the other side of the parking lot. The police came, caught the lady, and wrote a report.
I contacted Foote Insurance Agency (the lady’s insurance) and “opened a claim.” After being contacted directly by the husband of the lady asking to settle out of insurance (but on his terms). I called Foote Insurance Agency again to follow up (three days later) only to find out that they never actually opened a claim. They told me that their customer had a “legal right” to settle this outside of insurance and that they couldn’t open a claim without their client’s permission.

I have had my car insurance with Foote Insurance for a few years now. Unexpectedly, our car insurance premium went up due to a company wide increase. Ross looked in all directions for better and cheaper options for us.
