About American Traditions Insurance

American Traditions Insurance Company (ATIC) received their Certificate of Authority, and in January of 2006 began to write policies for manufactured homes. Specializing in this area allowed us to lead the way in offering reliable coverage to manufactured homeowners at an affordable rate. Shortly thereafter, ATIC began writing homeowner and condominium unit-owner policies.

ATIC grew quickly and in 2007 launched their affiliate insurance company, Modern USA Insurance Company (MUSA). MUSA offered additional capacity for homeowner, manufactured home, and condominium policies to the Florida marketplace. This allowed for continued growth and the ability for ATIC and MUSA to provide a market that consumers choose to place their trust in.

Unprofessional and unorganized. I was so surprised to see a company in this industry consistently miss dates and timelines, which ended up costing me time and money. I would shop any other company before receiving coverage from ATIC. Watch out!

Just Horrible!! if you have a policy please be sure that you understand every coverage this company offers and how it will affect you in the long wrong should you file a claim. They are the worst they send out poorly knowledge inspectors after you file a claim and you end up LOOSING don’;t do business with them they are terrible !!

Rated 4 instead of 5 because of excellent responsiveness and hideous lack of transparency. This is one of 2 or 3 Fl. insurers that may verbally insist that you use their contractor. Our policy, however states on the cover page in bold print “You pick your contractor.” When told we could not use our contractor (rated the best in 2 counties), we were referred to a section in a 12 page amendment. That paragraph stated that the insurer could opt to replace or repair with equal materials. No mention was made that they would insist on using their preferred contractor. Further, Florida insurance statutes state that companies that forbid assignment of benefits print such in large font on the policy. Being upfront about their practice could prevent homeowners and contractors wasting their time and offer insurance shoppers the ability to decide whether to select this insurance company. I give them Zero for transparency and 5 for responsiveness.

We have had this company for many years and have been quite happy up until yesterday when I received a letter stating that unless I put a new roof on our house within 90 days they will not renew our coverage. This is a HUGE expense to give your clients 90 days to complete. I would highly recommend that American Traditions Insurance email their clients at least a year in advance stating “Due to the age of your roof a new roof will be required next year in order to continue coverage”. This would allow your clients reasonable time to financially get the job completed. We have NEVER filed a claim against our homeowners and to give us just 90 days to install a new roof in my opinion is poor customer service!

This review is for Elements Disaster Recovery, water fire & mold remediation services. Shelby, in the office, was excellent to communicate with. She kept me informed every step of the way. The on-site job crew was efficient, in and out in one week as quoted. They cleaned up everything when the job was finished.

I was very pleasantly surprised by the quick response from American Traditions , within hours they looked into the issue which was actually with the agent and resolved it totally!

DO NOT GET THIS INSURANCE. Terrible insurance. They never want to cover anything. Will cancel your policy without making sure you are aware , hard to get in touch with anyone in charge. They purposely do not respond to the adjuster just so they can avoid paying for anything. What’s the point of being an insurance company if you don’t want to serve as a homeowners insurance company and pay for damages? Money hungry, greedy and don’t care about their customers. GET ANOTHER INSURANCE POLICY WITH SOMEONE ELSE.

I just need them to send me a loss report and for some reason I just can’t get it. First I’m told they will only mail them but as Im not at my mailing address I asked for an email. Sure they said, I’d get it by a certain date. That date came and went. I’ve left messages, asked to receive a call back and had the document resent by a new date and still nothing. You can only be placed on hold so long before the phone system kicks you out. At this point the report is the only thing preventing me from getting home insurance.

When I needed a new roof after a Florida storm, they were fast, attentive, and in constant contact. IO got a check within a week of getting the new roof. Highly recommend!
