I have bought a policy a week ago but when I log in into my account it is shown as dormant. Company has not replied to my email and webchat is active up to the point where real person needs to take over; as nobody responds, the software ends the chat. Three times at different hours – the same outcome.

The price you see on a price comparison website is unlikely to be the price they offer you and if you do take out insurance via a price comparison website, you won’t be able to qualify for all of the benefits they give direct customers. The lady I spoke to in their call centre was very nice and very helpful when I needed to make a change to my policy.

I was previously with MCN, Who now have New Underwriters.

They could do with new staff also, as I waited ages for them to

respond over live messaging. I kept asking ……are you still their??

Gave up with them after years being with them!!!

They failed to tell me re my breakdown cover it wasn’t relay? So phone back day later to ask re this and maybe add it on? Only to be told it’s £50 as should have done this on taking out as it would have been cheaper? I explained it wasn’t offered but if I did another policy I would have to pay difference re amending policy!! Totally stupid? Certainly not happy now gad to do this with another company? Which was less!!!

Second time around, I had a seamless experience in obtaining insurance for my new bike, however when I first rang to explain I had sold my old bike and wanted to insure my new one; I was informed that this was not possible, as they did not recognise my new bike. I then went on to a comparison site that brought up Bennetts as an option??

I’m very undecided about the service.

On the negative side it took me three attempts to get through to customer service with wait times ranging from 20 to 70 minutes. I bailed out twice because I ran out of time. This is unacceptable when I’m trying to spend money with them and I couldn’t find an on-line alternative.

On the plus side the customer service representative was first class and helped me get exactly what I wanted.

On the negative side my straight renewal had gone up around 8%.

On the plus side the representative managed to ADD European breakdown and reduce my renewal price slightly.

The worry is that if I do call on them in an emergency, I’ll be stuck on the phone for ages waiting for a response.

Really disappointed in the outcome of my insurance uptake with Bennetts. Hopefully I don’t need to call on the insurance services, but I’m sure there won’t be any issues if I do. The policy wasn’t the cheapest available on the comparison sites, but I wanted to go with Bennetts for the free BikeSocial membership.

I progressed my quote to policy uptake, made my payment and then only after the fact was made aware that to enjoy the free access to the BikeSocial membership, I had to go directly to Bennetts. It did not mention this anywhere in the whole quote to policy purchase process, but I discovered it when I tried to take advantage of some of the benefits.

The price difference between the comparison policy I took out and the direct policy was £67, which made a mockery of the “Free membership to direct customers” as the membership for non-Bennetts direct customers is £60.

My first experience with motorcycle insurance, and I’d checked a few companies direct or on comparison sites. Bennetts direct beat them all, and with the added benefit of BikeSocial I’m very happy.

Then additional packages available, breakdown, personal injury, kit and legal protection, all for about £60 was a great deal, and the easy purchase, great communication and documentation was exactly what one expects from such a well known brand.

I’ve saved over £50 with discounts via BikeSocial too.

When looking at other reviews about difficulty contacting customer services, I have concerns about this, but we are in a different world following the pandemic, and I understand that many may be working from home, but that said, I’m happy so far.

Great products, great price, and wonderful support so well done Bennetts!
