Still waiting to hear from insurance assessor meanwhile roof still leaking I to bedroom

DO NOT take out insurance with CGU. This is THE WORST insurance company I have ever had to deal with. We paid for cover while travelling overseas and after waiting on the phone for 3 hours to place 2 CLAIMS in September 2018, I was told to expect a call the following day and did not hear back from them, NOT ONCE! I have tried multiple times to make contact – and get put on hold for a ridiculous amount of time with no staff able to resolve the issue and reimburse me what I am entitled to. It’s clear staff have no idea what they’re doing – instead of resolving the issue I get continually passed on and on. Disgraceful service, ripped off and a complete waste of time.

Had a collision and was told by a claims rep that excess would be waived in our case as the other party was deemed at fault and also not uninsured, this was confirmed with a txt message and email

Two days later we get an email saying we are now being billed the excess and we are found at fault and then they gave us a the conplete steer around happy to hound us but when we call its oh thats a different dept or that person cant do that.

I enrolled with CGU car insurance for a 1 year comprehensive car insurance with this company back in 2018 and at the end of our 1 year contract, I switched to another insurance company offering a better price. Approx. 2 years later after returning from overseas I went though my bank statements in detail and realised the company continued to deduct monthly instalments from my bank even though the policy statement clearly indicates the “start and end date” of the policy.

Now that I’ve contacted them for a refund, they first asked me for another $300 as final payment which they waivered after I protested however now they are referring some fine print in some document (which I don’t have access to now) stating I, as a customer was responsible for notifying the company to stop the monthly deductions! Having requested that document multiple times now they still haven’t provided me with those fine prints.

This is clearly a case of shady business practices and I will be raising this matter with Fair Trade.

I rang them and have gotten a claim number 3 months ago, since then, they have sent 2 accessor. Among that, I have also hire my own accessor to give me a report. CGU? nothing. Absolutely heard nothing back. Doesn’t call back, doesn’t reply to emails despite at least 20 attempts to reach out to them. This is certainly the sort of insurance company i want all my enemies and competitors to use.

absolute worst insurance company ive had to ever speak to, I have called 7 times in the past week to speak to their operator Adrian and he is always on a phone call. I will give them my contact details to give me a call at their convenience and still waiting for that call back. I have sent emails from now almost 2 weeks ago and still waiting for a response. Absolute worst company, do not bother with them.
