Einstein once said that if everyone starts to judge fishes by their ability to climb a tree, then those poor fishes will live the rest of their lives thinking they are stupid. And this is what our education system is doing. Everyone has to go through the same learning method, the same type of exams, and the same type of expectations. Basically, the system considers every child to be the same and trains, everyone, to climb the tree without realizing what a child’s natural talent is. Well, schools are doing their job. They are teaching children how to get a job and how to earn a livelihood and survive in this world. But let’s imagine, if money wasn’t a thing, what career would you have?
We come across several students every day requesting their transcript certificates (Mumbai University transcript, DU transcript, SMU transcript, etc.), Medium of Instruction certificate, certificate attestations, and other studies abroad documents. We often ask them why they applied late with such an urgency (though we have a 100% track record of delivering all the documents way from its time). Most of them replied they decided to study abroad either when they were about to complete their graduation or after they had completed their graduation. They never knew these documents will be required and now they are on verge of missing the application deadline. Basically, we want to say that they are in a race having no prior decisions. They are just going on the flow. And this is the story of every student out there. They are obviously after money.
We did a linked poll asking “If you were provided with the right career counseling in school, would your career be different today?” And the result was really surprising. 90% voted yes. So they are doing their job just for the sake of money and to survive the world. But if money was not the thing, they would indulge in jobs like painting, traveling, repairing stuff, building something, writing poems or stories, swimming, playing sports and games, reading, cooking and so many other things that can make them feel alive. Alan Watts said, “If you don’t do what you enjoy doing then you will be doing things that you don’t like doing to go on living to further do the things you don’t like doing.” Truly said.
So pause for a moment. Forget about your certificates attestation, Mumbai University Transcript, IELTS score, etc., etc. and ask yourself, if money wasn’t a thing, what profession would you have opted for? And trust me you may find a key for your success. The formula is simple, keep doing what you enjoy doing and in that process, you become master of what you do. And when you become master of something, the world comes to you for your service. Simple, isn’t it? Do let us know in the comments section what career you would have if money wasn’t the only factor for doing a job. One of my friends said the job of a teacher is evergreen. Everyone needs education and therefore teachers are always on demand. But we can see many Ed-tech startups have already replaced tuitions and many colleges are providing online education consisting of pre-recorded lectures.
