Cost: Affordable premiums and wellness coverage
Although ASPCA’s premiums are competitive with most other providers, its low-level wellness rider is cheaper than most, at just $9.95 per month. We used the company’s online quote estimator to create the following two rules.
Accident and sickness insurance for a three-year-old, medium-sized (26-50 lb) mixed-breed female dog with $10,000 coverage, $500 deductible, and 80% reimbursement, will amount to $37.15 per month. Basic preventative care coverage added $9.95 per month for $250 of coverage for a total of $47.10 per month.
Accident and sickness insurance for a one-year-old domestic longhair cat with $10,000 coverage, $500 deductible, and 80% reimbursement was $19.71 per month. Basic preventative care coverage added $9.95 per month for $250 of coverage for a total of $29.66 per month.
ASPCA also offers a 10% discount for each additional pet you insure. You can also choose to pay your premiums monthly, quarterly, semi-annually, or annually. Finally, the ASPCA will refund 100% of your premiums paid if you cancel your policy within 30 days for any reason and have not received a refund.
The ASPCA reimburses claims within 30 days, which is a bit longer than other pet insurers.
Customer service: online portal, mobile application, etc.
ASPCA facilitates the submission of claims online through a member portal, by mail, or by fax. The online Member Center and My Pet Insurance mobile app can also be used to update billing, add pets, change coverage and check claims status.
ASPCA typically processes claims within 30 days, which is slow compared to other pet insurers. You can also choose to have your vet bills reimbursed by direct deposit or a postal check.
ASPCA offers phone and email support Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. EAST.
Competition: ASPCA vs. kiss
We compared ASPCA Pet Insurance to Embrace Pet Insurance, which also offers similar policies, prices, wellness endorsements, and discounts.
At first glance, Embrace seems like a better choice. It offers a slightly lower premium for the same coverage, a wellness plan that includes services as well as prescription food, and a two-day waiting period for accidents compared to 14 days for the ASPCA. window.
On the other hand, because the ASPCA offers 10% off for each additional pet you insure instead of just 10% for all additional pets like Embrace, its plans may be more cost-effective if you have multiple pets. servants. ASPCA also offers coverage in Canada and the United States, so your pets are covered in both countries.

Final Verdict: Average Coverage at an Average Price
While the ASPCA’s prices and policies are industry average, its wellness coverage is a bargain. That said, we would have gladly paid a little more to be reimbursed for dental services and to be able to choose a reimbursement percentage for preventive care rather than being limited to a fixed amount of coverage.
We appreciate that the ASPCA covers prescription foods and alternative treatments and offers some flexibility when it comes to pre-existing conditions. A 10% discount per additional animal is also useful when you want to protect a large family of animals without breaking the bank.
Overall, however, ASPCA doesn’t offer the most impressive coverage for the price. We recommend creating a policy to see how much you’ll pay, then compare prices a bit. You can find a slightly better deal for your money elsewhere
